Assessing - Expert Witness
Defense of Values and Expert Witness - Review of local level abatement applications with assessor visiting requesting property to ensure fair and equitable assessments. Recommendations made to Town assessing officials. In appeals above the local level (Board of Tax and Land Appeals and Superior Court) assessor reviews all pertinent information and represents the Town as an expert witness if assessment is found to equitable. If upon review that is not found to be the case, a recommendation will be made to Town assessing Officials
